With Marvel's The Avengers already having earned over $1 billion at theaters worldwide, ABC Entertainment President Paul Lee said today in a conference call (via the New York Daily News) that they are still hoping to bring The Hulk back to the small screen as well.

Lee mentioned that ABC is working to have the show ready for the 2013-2014 season. “We had hoped it would be ready this year, but that didn’t happen," said Lee. The project is being developed by Guillermo del Toro and David Eick for ABC Studios and Marvel TV.

He added that the show could air on ABC or another network. "Wherever it would work best," said Lee.

Regarding "AKA Jessica Jones," which was also in development at ABC Studios, Lee said it hasn't been picked up but is not dead yet. "Other projects are more toward the front of the queue now." "Twilight" franchise screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg was adapting the comic.

There was no mention of "Cloak and Dagger," the third property that ABC was eyeing as a series.

I loved Avengers!

Every character got their due, but Robert Downey Jr. and the Hulk got all the great jokes.

Captain America got the respect he deserved on screen. Loved one line they gave him in particular when the Black Widow said he should stay out of the Iron Man Thor encounter because it was like they were gods or something to that effect, and Cap says in a true 1940's fashion, that there is only one God, and then he proceeded to jump out of an airplane into the fight.

I've got to say, the Hulk was done perfectly. Banner was played as a nice guy sort of soft spoken kind of dude which was a great contrast to the raging Hulk. The Hulk had attitude! I loved that about the movie. Hopefully, will see the Hulk in comics and the movies gravitate more to this kind of Hulk in the future.

My wife even loved the movie.

The rest of the superheroes and other summer movies are going to have their hands full competing with this one. It was just fun as all get out. Love the fighting and the interactions between the characters. There was a lot of testosterone in this movie! Heck, it made me want to take up boxing or wrestling or something. Sort of made me feel like a kid again. I mean the fight scenes just looked like they were a lot of fun, and the characters especially Iron Man and the Hulk made it look like he was having fun.

I want to see it again already!

According to this article I found at yahoo news the Avengers Banner is going to go for a personality more like that of the TV Banner in that he'll be more of do-gooder out to help his fellow man instead of just seeking a cure only.

Sound like a good idea?
Whedon told me that he and Ruffalo both agreed that they wanted their version of Dr. Banner to follow the model established by Bill Bixby in the '70s TV version of "The Incredible Hulk," rather than how he had been portrayed in the more recent films. The character on the show, they felt, "was busy helping other people.... That was more interesting to us than the Banner in the first two movies who was always fixated on curing himself."
Once the actor and director found a common vision for how they would handle Bruce Banner's personality, they had to work out the other side of the role: the lumbering, destructive, out-of-control Hulk. Whedon admitted that he and Ruffalo fought over this. Physically. He said, "I mean literally we actually got some pads out and did some tussling. Just to talk about the physicality of somebody who has to control this thing, and the way he moves in space and the way he relates to the people and the objects around him. It was extremely fun."
Together, Whedon and Ruffalo worked out not just the dual nature of Banner's personality, but also the two sides to the Hulk's physical presence. Whedon said, "What we found was that he could be very bumbling and kind of awkward, but at the same time very graceful and in this almost transcendent control of himself." Their efforts should show on screen as well. While the Hulk will be a digital creation like in the last two films, this time it will actually be Ruffalo playing the big green guy. Using motion capture technology like in "Avatar," all of the Hulk's movements and expressions will come from Ruffalo.
Lou Ferrigno on DVD

The body-builder turned actor most famous for his role as "The Incredible Hulk" turns 60 on November 9. The Brooklyn-born muscleman first appeared on TV as the mad green monster back in 1978, and he's been going strong ever since.

The larger-than-life figure (he's 6-foot-5) first came to notice in the 1977 documentary "Pumping Iron," which follows the Mr. Olympia competition. The quiet, partially hard-of-hearing upstart attempts to unseat the reigning champ: charismatic, outgoing, confident Arnold Schwarzenegger. Ferrigno does not succeed, placing third.

The docudrama did lead to Ferrigno's show-business start on the small screen, and made Ah-nold a star.

Ferrigno knows he's tied to the Hulk because of the fans. He said in an interview at the 2010 New York Comic Con, "Everybody just loves 'The Hulk.' They keep telling me they liked the original series better [than] they all liked the movies [with] the CGI or that kind of stuff." Maybe so, but no actor could match the bodybuilder's workout: At the age of 25, Ferrigno benched-pressed 560 pounds. Even at 50, he was still lifting 400 pounds.
