Editorial Review:
Amazon.com: Craig Armstrong's evocative score for The Incredible Hulk tells a listener much about the bearing of the movie it accompanies. Even without seeing it on a screen, the music is indelibly marked with both the color of night, and the tumultuous inner life of the titular character, trapped in his unshakable reality. While there are plenty of passages suffused with the increased pulse rate of dynamic action, much of this double disc set is potently emotional. There are tensions and momentary resolutions; there are longings punctuated by islands of fleeting calm. Rich and dense, the strength of this music is that it never loses sight of the solitary man at its center. Indeed, it is as if it takes the massed numbers of an entire symphony to equal the presence of The Incredible Hulk. --David Greenberger
Amazon.com: From Marvel Music, the ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK to the smash-hit Super Hero blockbuster THE INCREDIBLE HULK!
Marvel Studios and Universal Pictures present the most incredible Super Hero movie of the summer: THE INCREDIBLE HULK. Hot on the heels of the highly successful IRON MAN, Marvel Studios tells the story of physicist Bruce Banner, a man on the run with a secret that could destroy us all, or be our only hope. When this mild-mannered man loses control, his rage unleashes the monstrous creature known to the world as the Hulk. But in his effort to cure himself of his condition, he has unwittingly delivered the key to his transformation into the hands of an enemy that wants to use it against him. Now, our only hope is for the Hulk to accept his monstrous fate and embrace his heroic destiny.
From director Louis Leterrier (THE TRANSPORTER) and starring Edward Norton (THE ILLUSIONIST), this pulse-pounding film is enhanced by a truly remarkable score from critically acclaimed composer Craig Armstrong. After gaining the attention of film-goers everywhere for his work on WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE'S ROMEO + JULIET with internationally acclaimed director Baz Luhrmann, Armstrong re-teamed with Luhrmann on MOULIN ROUGE and was showered with awards including AFI's Composer of the Year, a Golden Globe for Best Original Score of the Year and a BAFTA for Achievement in Film Music. Mr. Armstrong also won a Grammy for his score in the Oscar-winning RAY. His film work also includes ELIZABETH: THE GOLDEN AGE, Oliver Stone's WORLD TRADE CENTER, and more. Mr. Armstrong has also worked with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Craig Armstrong recorded his first Classical record for EMI Classics France with the BBC Symphony Orchestra for a 2008 release, which includes a violin concerto for Clio Gould. Mr. Armstrong also teaches at the Royal Academy of Music London. He now brings his considerable talents to the newest release from Marvel Studios.
This moving score features the memorable music that accompanies the films eye-popping fights and its jaw-dropping climax. This score also contains a treasured piece from the Hulk's history: "The Lonely Man" theme as interpreted by Armstrong. Originally used in the popular television show, this song harkens back to the conflict and isolation felt by the film's central hero, a theme echoed throughout the Hulk's 40-year history.
A popular character in comic books, television and now film, The Incredible Hulk stands poised to smash his way into the box office this summer. As Marvel's Super Hero films continue to break movie-going records, this action thriller is poised to continue that trend, with stunning visual effects, powerful performances from its star-studded cast, and a sweeping score that will stay with you long after you see the film.
This is the official soundtrack to The Incredible Hulk. It is manufactured by Amazon.com, under license from Marvel Entertainment, using the original master recordings.
This product is manufactured on demand using CD-R recordable media. Amazon.com's standard return policy will apply.

I have enjoyed listening to this Double Disc Edition score. I'm a big fan of Movie scores/soundtracks and this one did not disappoint. It was such a great price. Even on Itunes it was going to cost significantly more. I liked that it has an ominous, sometimes melancholy and yet powerful sound. There is an enjoyable variation in the music as you feel the anticipation and energy build during the action sequences, and then switch to a more dangerous, introspective, tragic sound. One other thing that ... Read More

Film scores have this tendency to sound the same (possibly because they are influenced by the studios and cues of a handful of composers) - but the musical score from The Incredible Hulk stands out - massive and perfect like Hulk himself.
It's hard to find a cinematic orchestral score that so precisely captures the beauty and the agony of a scientific mind dealing with personal conflict, wild helplessness, controlled anger and quiet determination to overcome all the negatives. I have ... Read More

This music was incredibly awsome! I had never heard of Craig Armstrong before and was surprised at how good this music sounded. I love the way he uses the strings and precussion. This music is truely incredible!

The complete score, you can't go wrong with that. This is the first score I've bought from Craig Armstrong, and he seems capable of action music and subtle underscore, though this score suffers the same problems as many others: repetition. He uses the same action motifs over and over, but that's not too bad.

The Incredible Hulk is the second time they've tried to kickstart Marvel's `Hulk' character with a big-screen adventure after the popular 1970s TV series starring Bill Bixby; the first, critically maligned movie starred Eric Bana as the ill-fated scientist who turns into a green-skinned monster when he gets angry. This new version is directed by Louis Leterrier stars Edward Norton, Liv Tyler, William Hurt and Tim Roth, and stays more within the traditional realms of the accepted comic book history, ...
